TWO NEW FREE EXHIBITIONS OPEN AT CHIMNEY WALK, EXPLORING THEMES OF PLAY AND WAITING
Our year-long partnership with Hypha Studios continues with a new round of exhibitions and we’re excited to announce the two new collections in Gallery 1 and 2 at Chimney Walk.
Gallery 1 is home to:
- ‘Chaos and Hope: A Playground for Change’, curated by Alysha Nelson with works by @globaldigitalfutures, @vroomlabuk, @trampbunny.tv, @bluemonday.exe, @hiddenkeileon, @essentialaspects, @hugo_skap, @elisabettygun and @alishamaryamm.
- The exhibition looks at how marginalised artists are expected to centre their work around their suffering and pain, when, in reality, joy and play are essential ways of keeping protests and movements alive. The works are interactive and immersive, encouraging the audience to participate.
- Date and time: 1 November – 7 December, Thursday to Sunday, 12-6pm
Gallery 2 is home to:
- ‘Not Yet, But Soon’, curated by In-Grid with works by Nathan Bayliss, Julian Burgess, Owen Planchard, Rafa Roeder, Hannah Corrie and Rupert Galea.
- The exhibition focuses on fear, hope, anxiety and yearning and the feeling of ‘what comes next?’, when the future is imminent yet not quite within reach. The work will be multi-media, with audio-visual installations and projections, as well as sculptures and performances.
- Date and time: 1 November – 7 December, Thursday to Sunday, 3-8pm
