TWO NEW FREE EXHIBITIONS OPEN AT CHIMNEY WALK

An exploration of Interconnection and Communication.

Gallery 1 is home to:

  • Send & Receive’, brought to you by art collective Poiesis, is presented by eight emerging London-based artists: Rosie Walker, Hannah Petter, Ina Hrešć, Luke Plowden, Ruiyang Wang, Garin Curtis, Yasemin Melek, and Adina Nicola.
  • The artworks in Send & Receive examine what’s gained and lost through contemporary mediums of communication. They treat spaces as unpredictable environments to deliver or answer a message. Do we reach out because we have something to say, or because we want to let the world know where we are?
  • Date and time: 17 April – 25 May, Thursday to Sunday, 2-8pm

Gallery 2 is home to:

  • ‘Shifting Grounds’, curated by Unground Collective with works by Aliansyah Caniago (Indonesia), Sirun Chen (Chengdu, China), Rhiannon Hunter ( London, UK), Linnea Johnels (Stockholm, Sweden), Jane Lawson (Manchester, UK), Sam Metz (Hull, UK), Sohorab Rabbey (Bangladesh), Tina Ribarits (Berlin, Germany), Elizabeth Salazar (London, UK) and Ella Wong (Hong Kong).
  • Shifting Grounds provides a platform for their diverse perspectives, fostering a dialogue between works and approaches that range from challenging the false boundaries of dualistic thought, through the fight to retain the sacred in the face of colonial extraction, to reimagining rituals to help shape liveable futures.
  • Date and time: 18 April – 24 May, Thursday to Sunday, 2-6pm
