ISLAND SUMMER SOCIAL 2026: A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

On Friday 18 September, we welcomed the community to our annual Summer Social, and what an evening it was. Despite the rain, spirits stayed high as residents, businesses, students, families and our local Stratford neighbours came together to celebrate everything that makes Sugar House Island special.

We had a whopping 246 guests attending and the evening showed just how diverse and connected the community is, with people of all generations and backgrounds coming together to celebrate the end of summer with music, dance and the chance to say hi to someone new.

Highlights from the night include:

🕺 Dance like no one is watching
East London Dance brought all the energy with interactive dance sessions that got everyone moving, from little ones to grandparents. From dance-alongs to a Soul Train line, the rain was no match for the dance floor.

🎤 Showcasing local talent
UD Music brought some of the best local talent to the Island, with performances from Lina Sounds, Shelbee Tee, The Multiverse and Dia Day, including some unreleased exclusives our guests were lucky enough to hear first.

🎶 Winding down in style
As the night drew to a close, Maria Hanlon and Mimi Rich kept the vibes going, spinning records late into the evening.
