WE’RE WELCOMING YOU TO THE ISLAND FOR OPEN HOUSE 2025!
As part of the Open House Festival, on Saturday 13th September, we’ll be hosting a series of walking tours all day with our architects Supervene and our landscape architects Planit, as well as gin distillery talks with Jim and Tonic East.
The festival provides a unique opportunity to access some of London’s most architecturally important buildings and neighbourhoods, with Sugar House Island containing a myriad of interesting architecture and heritage stories to discover.
These stories range from the reclaimed Victorian-era warehouses that have now been transformed into The Talent House, a state-of-the-art creative hub for the next generation of music and dance professionals, to the industrial era-chimneys which have been cleaned and restored and now line Chimney Walk, our latest phase of development.
The work by landscape architects Planit has turned this former industrial site into a community of homes, forward-thinking businesses like School 360, cultural organisations like East London Dance and HQs for renowned brands like Sophia Webster, all while paying homage to the various industries of the past – from textiles and soap to sugar and gin. The architects have retained the materials, colours and street names at the Island as a nod to these historic trades.
We invite you to discover how this blend of old and new has shaped our Island community. See the full schedule and sign up here.
