This week we welcome global publisher of the creative arts, Phaidon as our newest tenant to Dane’s Yard, the creative quarter of Sugar House Island. Phaidon, which has brought over 1,500 titles to print, specialises in producing books on art, design, architecture, photography, food and travel.
Phaidon’s move to Sugar House Island follows a 20-year residency in King’s Cross. Their new home, 2 Cooperage Yard, is an eye catching sawtooth roofed building with waterside and courtyard views. 2 Cooperage Yard is one of eight new and recently refurbished historic buildings of Dane’s Yard, an exciting creative hub with a mix of characterful workspaces on the waterside.
Andrew Cobden, MD of Vastint UK, said: “Phaidon’s arrival to Sugar House Island rewards the thoughtful design we have invested in the scheme, showing just how well suited it is to the creative industries. Their presence is a huge boost for the development and continues the successful emergence of east London as a great place to live and work. We look forward to welcoming further businesses and families as the Sugar House Island community grows and thrives.”
Phaidon is the fourth business to set roots in Dane’s Yard, following the Island’s developer Vastint UK, Copper Projects and The Print House Bar and Kitchen. Watch this space for announcements on further exciting additions to Dane’s Yard.
