Following the completion of our first phase of commercial space in Dane’s Yard, we have received planning consent from the London Legacy Development Corporation for a significant second phase of offices at Sugar House Island.
The planning consent allows for three commercial blocks located along High Street Stratford, which will span 290,000 sqft, and provide 40,000 sqft of flexible space at ground-floor level.
The three buildings will range from four to seven storeys with warehouse-style facades in keeping with the industrial heritage of our site and locality. The buildings, designed by award-winning architect CJCT, will be BREEAM-rated ‘Excellent’ and with ambitions for WiredScore ‘Gold’ ratings.
Andrew Cobden, MD of Vastint UK says: “The grant of consent by LLDC enables Sugar House Island to further strengthen east London as a great location for occupiers seeking well-connected offices, built to a human scale.
“The addition of this trio of larger office buildings to those in place at Dane’s Yard supports the vision for Sugar House Island as a truly balanced mixed-use development.
“This latest phase will create increased employment opportunities within Stratford, served by a large range of transport alternatives and surrounded by a wealth of facilities, communal outdoor spaces and canals.”
Completion of this second phase is expected to be 2023.
